Welcome to our safe space
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a master's degree in social work from the University of Utah. I offer a unique perspective and deep personal connection to my patients. I have experience working with a broad variety of adult populations with a specific focus on trauma. Like most therapists, I am capable of sitting back, listening and validating. All of us need this in some form. However, that is not my primary approach. If you are looking for a therapist that will help you learn about yourself and change the areas of your life that are causing you distress, then we could be a good fit.
My approach emphasizes the importance of creating a safe space where patients feel comfortable opening up about their experiences. Acknowledging and understanding trauma is essential for healing. As one of my patients once told me, “you gotta feel it to heal it!” Drawing from my experience as an open and proud trans woman with my own trauma history; I understand the multifaceted impact trauma can have, fueling my unwavering passion for this vital therapeutic work.
I help clients who struggle with low self esteem, identity issues, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, destructive or disturbing thoughts and actions. My ideal patient is one who has the will to critically examine their own thoughts, beliefs and behavior patterns in order to identify common threads and blind spots. This helps empower them to make the changes in their life that lead to improved wellness outcomes.
My preferred modalities are CBT, SFT, EFT and EMDR sprinkled with the DBT for clients who need help developing coping skills.
My ultimate goal is to help clients recognize their inherent value and worth, guiding them towards a happier and more fulfilling life.
If you are looking for help, then you must see something of value in yourself. This is a great first step to investing in your well being. You deserve to be happy.
